Funeral services for Leonard Layfield, 94, of Butler, will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Layfield passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Taylor County Health and Rehab. He was a member and deacon emeritus of Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church and a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Wafe Wisham Layfield; six brothers, four sisters and his wife, Blondell Ray Layfield.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky Layfield (Janice) of Macon and Milton Layfield (Diane) of Bonaire; one daughter, Bonnie Harvey (James) of Ft. Valley; one brother, Eugene Layfield (Lois) of Americus; one sister, Edna Kelly of Columbus; seven grandchildren, Lynn Mitchell of Ideal, Terry Layfield of Ideal, Donna Engle of Ocean Springs, MS, Kevin Layfield of Warner Robins, Stephanie Harvey of Americus, Sharon Harvey of Ideal, Ben Harvey of Ft. Valley; fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
