Charlie Clines Giles, Jr., 80 of Butler died at his home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. He was born September 27, 1935, in Byron, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie T. Giles; his parents, Charlie C. and Iris Giles. Funeral service will be held on January 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home in Butler.

He is survived by his two daughters, Charlene G. (Mitch) Watson and Lynne G. Verdan of Butler; two sons, Charles Brent (Shelene) Giles of Hendersonville, NC and Thomas Andrew Giles of Warner Robins; eight grandchildren, Lauren (Chastin) Brand of Butler, Stevie (Harley) Gentry of Butler, Spencer (Kristin) Watson of McDonough, Shelby (Heather) Watson of Wilmore, KY, Tyler Giles of Warner Robins, Mallory (Isaac) Herring of Ludowici, Trussell and Reese Giles of Hendersonville, NC; two great-grandchildren, Piper Watson of McDonough, Taylor Grace Gentry of Butler; sister, Clarice (Wayne) Pilcher of Winterville; twenty nieces and eight nephews.

He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of Butler. For many years, he served as deacon, song leader, Sunday school teacher and handyman. He also served in AWANA, drove the Church van and was known as the "Bubblegum Man". He retired from Robins AFB in 1994, after 38 years as an Electronics Technician.

Burial will be held in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Cemetery. Reverend Fitzgerald Brown will officiate. His nephews, Steve Pilcher, Donnie Trussell, Jimmy Trussell, Tim Trussell, Cliff Montgomery, Alan Montgomery and Jeb Bone will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 349 Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Rd, Butler, GA 31006.
