Funeral services for Colleen Crenshaw Clifton, 88, of Roberta, will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday August 23, 2017, at Roberta Evangelical Church. Burial will follow in Roberta City Cemetery. Mrs. Clifton passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon.

She was a faithful member of Roberta Evangelical Church where she and her husband, Worth, sang each Sunday. They also sang together at Buckner’s Restaurant in the house band for 15 years. She and Worth were the main entertainment at all the family functions.

She sang with her five sisters and with several southern gospel groups including the Angelic’s. The sisters loved to travel, sing and they bowled in a National Bowling Tournament in Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed family vacations at Daytona Beach. She was known for her homemade biscuits that no one can duplicate.

She worked for Bibb Manufacturing Company for many years and was a member of the Women’s Club of Bibb Manufacturing. After she retired from Bibb Manufacturing she was a school bus driver for Bibb County Board of Education for 20 years.

The most important things in her life were her church, her husband and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Gordon Crenshaw and Alice Coleman Crenshaw; five sisters, Lorelle Crenshaw (infant), Mildred Sellers, Tina Williams, Muriel Cochran and Sammie Anglin; and a grandson, Tee Clifton.

Survivors include her husband of 72 ½ years, William Worth Clifton of Roberta; her children, Terry Clifton (Cindy) of Warner Robins, Pam Leslie (Dan) of Macon, Karen Doss (David) of Ruston, LA and Tim Clifton (Joy) of Mars Hill, NC; ten grandchildren, Brandi Caldwell (Chris), Wendy Wright, Blake Leslie, Traci Underwood (Tommy), Lauren Barnhill (Justin), Kevin Clifton (Macy), Mandy Bagwell, Mark Doss, Myriah Hilburn (Mitchell) and Cody Clifton; fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Roberta Evangelical Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Roberta Evangelical  Building Fund.
