Brenda Busbee Carroll

Funeral services for Brenda Carroll, 73 of Roberta will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at Roberta United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.  Brenda passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.   

She was born and raised in Lizella, Georgia where she met the love of her life, Pete Carroll. They spent the rest of their glory years traveling between Roberta and Saint Simons Island spending time with their loved ones.  Over the years, she made many friends and never met a stranger. Anyone that knew her, knew her well. 

She wholeheartedly believed in keeping her community safe for future generations by diligently serving as a Commissioner on the Roberta Housing Board and Crawford County Development Authority for more than thirty years. She was also a member of the Water and Sewer Authority and the Clean and Beautiful Board. During her years of environmental activism, she acquired many grants for Crawford County. Through her hard work and dedication, she was awarded Citizen of the Year. She was a member of the Roberta United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Pansy Busbee and her husband, Pete Carroll. 

She is survived by one son, Wesley Carroll of Saint Simons Island; two granddaughters, Evie Carroll and Isabelle Morris; one brother, Milford Busbee and wife Anna; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Jay and Pam Andrews and their children, Colby and Haley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local animal shelters.
